WindFire's EIM Suite Assessed and Validated by Doculabs

Strong technology performance and OEM strategy praised

April 15, 2003 - San Diego, CA—WindFire Technology today announced findings from its recent product assessment and strategy validation by Doculabs, a leading technology research and consulting firm.

WindFire's Xtorm® enterprise information management (EIM) suite comprises enterprise content management, business process management and virtual repository management applications. Designed for managing all structured and unstructured information across a distributed network, Xtorm applications are embeddable and integrated components targeted for production-level transaction processing environments.

After a comprehensive product and strategy assessment, Doculab's key findings include the following:

  • Xtorm's business process management capabilities center around true application and process automation, not merely workflow processes

  • The focus on an embeddable applications benefits OEM partners, making it easy for them to "EIM-enable" their own solutions

  • The virtual repository management capability is unique and addresses true enterprise management across applications and platforms

  • Xtorm's distributed architecture is platform, database and language independent, and provides a scalable solution for very large installations. This also evidenced by several existing customers who process upwards of a million documents a day.

"Overall, we feel that WindFire clearly takes advantage of lessons learned though other solutions," stated Patricia Turocy, principal analyst for Doculabs. "Both the architecture and applications feature set answer current market requirements in a way that is easy to implement, and with lower TCO."

Maurice Correa, WindFire's president, remarked: "Our vision for a lean and mean EIM solution is now validated by one of the most respected and influential industry analyst firms. Clearly the convergence of ECM, BPM and virtual repository management (VRM) is needed in the marketplace, and we plan to aggressively promote our solution with this in mind."

A white paper detailing the full evaluation results is forthcoming.
